Hallie’s Birth Story-{charleston sc newborn photographer}

….It’s been a little while since I prepared the below post but finally finished up the photos I wanted to include. She is already a month old and it seems like so long ago that we were at the hospital and preparing for our sweet baby girl! Now I’m back to  scheduled sessions and the time is flying by even faster so I thought I better get this blog post up before I forget!

It was June 23rd, a Monday, and a day I had been waiting on for nine long months! I thought for sure my little princess would arrive before that date, but she stayed put until the scheduled csection. I woke up way too early that morning at 5am full of nerves, excitement, and high hopes for what was to come. Both my parents and Tommy’s were in town and we all piddled around the house getting ready, taking photos, etc before heading to the hospital at 10am. Everything went so smoothly, no delays. I was a little more frightened of this csection b/c I was more aware of what was about to happen to me. I was scared to death that they didn’t numb me enough, but all was good and they began to get her out. I waited for that cry after they said here she comes and my eyes filled with tears when I heard it. She had taken in a lot of fluid and had to be on oxygen for about 5 minutes, but right after that I got to snuggle her and see her face up close. I’m so thankful there weren’t any complications from the fluid! I know it could have been worse. My husband accompanied her to the nursery as they finished up with me and wheeled me to recovery. I couldnt wait to hold her in my arms and feed her for the first time. She latched right on like a champ!Tickled Blue_Charleston_sc_family_newborn_childrens_photographer_0512BLOG
Once we were put in a post postpartum room, my little man Easton was able to pop in for a visit. I was SO excited to see his face and introduce him to his baby sister. This boy of mine that seemed so small before, now seemed so big next to his tiny little sister. His little hands and face didn’t seem so small anymore. He was so sweet and gentle with her and it was neat to see him help hold her, touch her tiny hands, and ask his ‘why’s’.   His only issues are a bit of jealousy but he takes that out on me instead of her. :). He has made some silly comments like ‘you need to go back to that doc doc and let them put her back in your belly’ or ‘her cries too much, I no like her’. He asked me to take him to the museum one day and I told him we weren’t quite ready to go places like that just the 3 of us and he told me I could ‘leave her over there in her swing while we go.’Tickled Blue_Charleston_sc_family_newborn_childrens_photographer_0489

We stayed in the hospital until Wednesday and were ready to bust out of there and get home. My mother in law prepared a huge meal for us and it was nice to bring her home to the place where we’ll make so many memories.
Week one flew by! Week 2 was when the difficulty set in. It was tough to juggle 2 little ones and I’m still trying to figure that part out.

Over the last few weeks, I snuck in 5 minutes or so here and there to edit these special photos that I’m SO thankful I was able to get of her first days, hours, and weeks of life. Time never goes slower than when you’re pregnant and never faster than when you just have a baby. It’s the craziest thing!

  You’ll be seeing lots and lots more of her sweet face as she grows I’m sure, but Here are a ton of photos for now….

We also had the very talented Becky Williamson Photography come by on Day 2 to capture us as a family for a fresh 48 session. I wanted a different perspective than my own and love how she captured us and our baby girl that day. Here are some of my favorites:
