Brand New Baby Girl-{Charleston Lifestyle Newborn Photographer}

I first met this family when they were still a family of 3 and expecting this sweet bundle below. They signed up for one of my Very Charleston Christmas Sessions last November. Their beautiful baby girl arrived last month and I got to photograph them in the hospital, plus at their home for a lifestyle newborn session. Just like many newborns before her, she didn’t really want to sleep at first, but that is A-OK in my book! I got some great shots of them as a family with her beautiful big eyes wide open, then moved to the posed portion at the end of the session when she drifted off to sleep for just a short bit. We incorporated so many of their things like her grandfathers old shirt. He had sadly passed away before this mom gave birth, but she wanted to do a few photos incorporating a shirt he often wore somehow. We used it just like a blanket wrapping their newest family member in it and letting mom hold her. I’m so so glad she mentioned using it. We used some of her handmade blankets as well which is one of my favorite things about lifestyle sessions. They’re all so different from one another and unique to each family. I always bring blankets to use, but I much prefer to use yours b/c they are special to you. Someone knitted or made it with your little one in mind and that makes them so very special!

One of my absolute favorite photos from their session is the photo I didn’t put in a collage below. It was a total in between moment while mom was feeding the baby, but also loving on her first born. It turned out so special and sweet.

It’s amazing just how quickly this delicate newborn phase goes by and I’m so happy this family invited me into their home to document them in that first week at home with their newest family member.
